- 1923 - Building of an aluminium rolling plant in Goldach through Beat Stoffel (1863 - 1937).
- 1924 - Start up of the sheet and foil rolling operations.
- 1925 - "Aluminium Company of Canada" (Alcan) is founded in Montreal.
- 1928 - The Sadac is founded in Chur by Beat Stoffel and Alcan.
The ownership of Aluminiumwerke AG Rorschach is taken over by this holding company.
- 1934 - The first 3 colour printing machine is acquired in Rorschach.
- 1971 - Building of new plant 2 "Rietli" in Goldach begins.
- 1972 - Installation of the first machine in Plant 2 (a Polyethylene-Extruder).
- 1982 - End of sheet fabrication in Plant 1 in Rorschach.
- 1986 - Change of company name to Alcan Rorschach AG.
- 1991 - Managing Director's office moves from Rorschach to Goldach.
- 1991 - Foil rolling production is discontinued in Plant 1 in Rorschach.
- 1993 - Quality Certificate ISO 9001 is attained.
- 1998 - Environment Certificate ISO 14001 is attained.
- 2000 - Merger between Alcan Inc. and Algroup (formerly Alusuisse).
- 2001 - Change of corporate name from Alcan Aluminium Ltd to "Alcan Inc.".
- 2002 - Official shutdown of the Rorschach Plant. ISO 9001; ISO 14001; OHSAS 18001 is attained.
- 2002 - Merger between Alcan Inc. and VAW Flexpac.
- 2003 - Change of company name to Alcan Packaging Rorschach AG.
- 2003 - Merger between Alcan Inc. and Pechiney Group.
